Can I find out what malpractice lawsuits are against a doctor?

I’m trying to do research in my area for a new doctor. Is there a way to see what malpractice lawsuits are or have been against him/her? Anyone have a website with more information?

I am pretty sure his legal records are kept private unless he is charged with another malpractice or some other lawsuit against him.

    Go to your state’s website.
There is a state agency that licenses doctors, and will have that info.

    Start at http://www.usa.gov.
In the bottom right corner, click "state government"
    Click your state.
When your state page opens, try the Department of State, or email the governor’s office and ask which department handles this.
